Here we see the Mil Mi-24 D "Hind Gunship" in it's natural habitat, Afghanistan. As you can see it is taking off to to hunt for prey.

Man those rolling takeoffs are never not impressive.

I know Air EVAC Bell Jet Ranger pilots that wish they could do rolling take offs. I watched a freshly fueled Air EVAC Jet Ranger take a patient on board and try to take off....the thing got about a foot off the ground and that was all it could do on that 105°F day.... Fun fact they don't tell you in the literature for Air EVAC, the Bell Jet Rager with the equipment on board has a serious weight limit, because it's already at or very near the maximum the helicopter can that just make you want to be taken to hospital in one? 😳
