Professional Turkish Zurna

Zurna is a widely used instrument in Turkey, West and Central Asia, South-Eastern Europe, and North Africa under very similar names like sorna, surnay, zurla, etc. It is a double-reed woodwind instrument with a very bright, high-frequency sound; it is almost inseparable from the davul (Turkish bass drum), and it is thought that they constitute a good ensemble for traditional weddings. It is constructed from one piece of wood and has one thumb hole and up to eight finger holes. The player blows into the double-reed mouthpiece, inserts it into the mouth, and uses circular breathing to make the melody continuous. We sell zurnas in apricot and plum wood, which are the most used types of wood in zurna construction. Different sizes of zurna and zurnas in different keys are available in our store and can be provided upon your order. All zurnas in our catalog are high-quality and constructed by masters. We believe you will find here the most convenient zurna at the best value.

Wow thanks to the Persian, this instrument can be found all over Asia, it is very popular in China and Southeast Asia because Persian traders introduced it to them long time ago. In my country Malaysia we call it Serunai.

The instrument has been depicted in stone reliefs and artwork by the Hittites, an ancient empire from Asia Minor, dating back to around 2000 to 1200 B.C. Did not know Turkey is that old. Glad to see people don't know their own history or their genetic make up. Turks should just go back to being Greek. *Turks from Turkey. As they probably have more Italian blood than even Turkic, let alone Greek.
