The Paradox of Choice | Why Less is More For True Happiness
Показать описание
The Paradox of Choice of Choice was originally introduced by Barry Schwartz in his book The Paradox of Choice: Why More is Less. In the book, Barry Schwartz discusses the problem with too many choices.
Barry Schwartz also describes people as Maximizers and Satisficers. Both of these approach the paradox of choice differently. Satisficers prefer simple living and are content with the options that they have in front of them. They understand why more stuff won’t make you happy and like a minimalistic approach to things. Maximizers go through analysis paralysis and stress over too many choices and making choices. This is exactly why more is less when it comes to making good decisions
The Paradox of Choice Summary also extends to other life choices: Marriage, career, travel, diet, etc. The truth is that sometimes less is more for true happiness and a good decision can be made through minimalism and a true understanding of the Paradox of Choice
