Catherine Dufour & Vamos Amigo (Personal Best) - World Cup Grand Prix Dressage Final

Danish dynamite: Cathrine Dufour on the Pidgley family's 10-year old Westfalian Vamos Amigos (by Vitalis x Hotline). I like to see more bending in the corners and lateral elasticity! The horse stays too straight with no flexion in those corners. The extended trot is too electric, creeps behind the contact. Wonderful trot half passes, very uphill and expressive. The passage is so off the ground and quick.. this is where the electricity pays off, but it could even be tuned down a notch. Very ground covering extended walk. Lovely two tempi's and ones , but in the pirouettes he verges on doing them with double beats. Vamos Amigos still has tons of energy and power left on that final centerline. Mega passage, good piaffe on the spot. Very pleasant ride to watch. 80.019% a new leader and personal best!

Incredible horse, but couldn’t really enjoy his talent with him being constantly behind the vertical. When is someone going to tell her.. I’m looking forward to the day she ditches nathalie. But as long as the judges are rewarding it, she probably won’t..
I was also disappointed to see her end second yesterday in the freestyle. Carina and Danse looked incredible together. (I might have a little soft spot for that mare😅) Weihe looked better than the last times we’ve seen her..
I honestly could not understand the results (and the disagreeing judges..), apart from Jessica’s win obviously.

This riding is a disaster. Look at the extended trot around 0:45- ALL weight in front, all the program behind vertical, hindlegs ''carry'' behind the body, lateral walk, in piaf the hind end jumps up and down and the front of the horse is not raised, the mouth nearly touch the chest and the nose drills are wide open perhaps because it is hard to breath.

Eurodressage made a good assessment . He has improved a lot and has time to learn to flow more if he is allowed to. Looks like a very honest horse but obviously needs a very sympathetic rider.

Would love to see the nose more out and the piaffe/passage more uphill. Looks very heavy on the front today sadly

Das Genick ist der höchst Punkt? Ich habe durchweg bei diesem Wettbewerb nur Pferde hinter dem Zügel gesehen, kein taktreiner Schritt, sondern gezackel und Reiter, die nicht mit dem Pferd eins waren, sondern teils akrobatische Übungen beim den Galoppwechseln praktiziert haben. Mir graust es, bei den vielen Vorstellungen und teils lässt sich erahnen, was im Training los ist. Das ist weit weg von Horsemenship, hier geht's nur ums große Geld zu Lasten der Pferde. Deshalb habe ich schon vor vielen Jahren dem Turniersport den Rücken gekehrt.

Yah the rider needs to keep her hands light and steady . Notice the horses head is nodding all the time which is very distracting to the complete picture which is otherwise rather good. The nodding of the head inwars is in direct response to her hands. It's considered an evasion of contact even though from what I can tell it's a rider problem, the horse just following the hand movement, hands or hand movement with the rhythm of the horse. This can also be used as an aid to some movements like passage which is incorrect and unsightly or to stop a horse rushing or to stay in rhythm, the same, it's unacceptable. Here anyway and unfortunately she does it all the on the long rein does the horse stop nodding inwards.

Horrible. This is no Dressage. Bad riders roll their horses in front of the judges and nobody stop them.
