The hexagon is supposed to be wavy, it will not lay flat until you fold it into the arm shape.

For anyone that wants to make the body LARGER without making the arms huge : after you get the arm width you want.. on each hexagon before you seam up the arms you can still crochet down the front, around the bottom and up the back as many times as you want. When you have the desired body size(minus 1 row in the joining area), join the back just how she did. Then you can join the arms (leaving your desired neck space), finish the arms and cuffs, and add more length to the bottom if you want. Hope that helps anyone wanting to know!

After two years of off and on crocheting and never finishing any of my projects, blanket after blanket and hat and stuffies, I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even start any project. I get too caught up in my head and give up.
After multiple months of seeing your content I got the random urge to try and make this pattern and when I tell you, I got to the last row of my first cuff and starting crying because I became so overwhelmed with euphoria. Not very becoming but I wanted to share with you how much of a difference this made.
Not only am I so excited to make the other half of my cardigan, I’m filled with so much satisfaction to see a custom piece of clothing that fits my 3x size body, in the colors and style that I want it to. AND I MADE IT!! All because of you! Thank you for everything you do❤

UPDATE:
I finished my cardigan about two weeks ago and my mom loved it so much I’m making one for her!!!
I added my own choice granny squares to the back❤

I've been crocheting for 35+ years and have never seen the way you start your new row cluster in the corner like that and I am now making a granny square dishcloth just so I can use that technique. I love it! I usually slipstitch to the next space to start my cluster but I feel like it makes a little extra bulk. Your technique eliminates that bulk. Thank you for sharing this project and your techniques.

As someone that doesn’t know how to crochet and has no idea what you’re talking about, this is insane lol. Anyone that can crochet and make something out of nothing is an absolute magician

For any plus size folks!!! I am a 3x and added 10 rows for each side on the back and 5 to the front sides as well for extra coverage. That allowed me to have the arms fit semi-tightly and add more to the body. Hope this helps!!

I was wearing my hexagon granny stitch cardigan at Costo today that i watched this video to learn how to make. It's very colorful -wirh 6 different colors of yarn. I got two compliments on it while at the self-checkout from people who work there. One of them said, "I love your Hexagon cardigan!" And then she says, "PassionKnit Kelsie?"... I said, Yep! I learned this pattern from her! ... ...This was 2/26/2024... in Tigard, OR (a suburb near Portland, OR).
Kelsie, I watch your videos all the time while I'm crocheting. I'm 62 years old 😂... and have a 26 year old daughter, myself.
I'm so happy for you and your success. Your tutorials are awesome!!

For those who are asking how much yarn she used…I looked up hobbi horizon light worsted dk, each cake or skein is 601 yards….I think she used 2…at least 1200-1400 would be my guess. Hope this helps those who, like me, could not find her answer anywhere.

I’m 34 years old, have held the crochet hook for the 1st time, saw some beautiful self colouring yarn in Turkey and bought in anyways, I was thinking maybe in a few years I will learn crochet to make my own cardigan, u make it look so simple in ur video, the way u explain every step, ur way of explaining is so clear and calm, it gave me the courage to start my own granny hexagon cardigan, and 5 days later, Iv made my own cardigan, it’s unreal feeling soo accomplished, thanks a lot to you, wishing u success in all that u do ❤

I'm 31 and have been crocheting on and off since I was about 10, and I've never tried to make wearables except scarves and hats because it always seemed so daunting. THIS tutorial is the BEST and I'm so grateful!! You explain everything so clearly and simply and I'm almost done with my first cardigan and I feel so much more confident and inspired to make more! Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve seen sooo many crochet tutorials, and no disrespect to anyone who graciously takes the time and effort to put them together, but this is the best one I’ve seen since I started in 2001. I’m on my 2nd sweater for my 15yr old in a week. We both follow you on Tiktok and we love your creations! One of the big yarn companies needs to sign you for a collaboration RIGHT 🤬 NOW.

I just made this!
For anyone who really loves when cuffs and borders match, I did a back-loop-only border all around in the same size hook as the rest of the sweater (7 stitches up to the collar, then decreased down to 4). I really like it, and it made it sooo easy to add horizontal buttonholes - I'll be making the buttons with shrinky dinks. Also, I made some heart shaped granny squares to attach as pockets. Super cute, really easy to follow, and my first cardigan!

Hi Kelsie, it is so amazing seeing you young crocheters continuing in the craft from us old folks. You are so inspiring and thank you for teaching this old dog new tricks. Take care.

Hello to everyone looking for the amount of yarn you‘ll need

I used the same yarn, same hook size, same amount of rows. For the full length cardigan she definitely used 3 cakes. You‘ll need a little less than 1 cake for each side (up to the joining of the two pieces). There is a little yarn left which should be enough for a small border. If you don’t want a cropped cardigan, you’ll need a third cake though to add the length.

Enjoy everybody, and order enough yarn 😅 I only got 2 cakes and now I‘ll have to wait for my color to come back into stock in order to finish 🙈 on the plus side, I‘ll have enough yarn to add a hood 😊

I made a silly decision ans decided to change colours every two rows so now I'm dealing with all these ends but I think it was worth it. This is a brilliant tutorial, I loved it and it's a very fast project also!!!

Because I’m a left-handed crocheter, I often find tutorial videos challenging - thank you for making this one delightful and easy to follow!
