This game is the successor of the arcade fighting game Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (and its prequels), and is the first installment of the Marvel vs. Capcom series, featuring characters from various Marvel comics as well as various Capcom game series.

I love how the X-Men characters do an X-pose before they do a super. Great attention to detail! This will be forever one of the best fighting games ever played!

This game has really aged so well, you can play it again and again and you will always have fun. It's a well planned, developed game, and the animation of characters is magnificent. Every fighter has unique moves; punches, kicks, no generic moves (you know what I mean) ...

This game has no age indeed.. 10 out of 10. CAPCOM is really expert making video games. Respect.

This game was the bomb back in the day. Kids used to line up at the arcade at the mall just to feed quarters into a slot and slam buttons watching characters pummeling each other. Captain America/Ryu combo for the emeffin' win, YO!

I always love the fighting games where when a super move is performed, the background changes to something more psychedelic and intense, almost as if to say such moves are so powerful, they can bend reality. And now, the Smash Bros. series will have such a thing happen during the Final Smashes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

I love how Ryu can basically become Ken, Akuma, and that other guy with just a single meter. It's a neat little addition.

When I was kid I was on the bowling league at my local bowling alley. After I was done bowling I would spend a few hours playing this game at the arcade, it was best time ever, crowds would gather around and watch people play. Great memories.
