I had this surgery on my list for about 10 years now. It’s not new & some people need it. I’m definitely getting this done at some point, ju need to find the right surgeon. The scar is hidden in the hairline when its done right.

This is not new, nor is it a trend, rather social media is making us more aware of it. People have been having forehead reduction surgery as far back as the 70s. Forehead reduction and hairline advancement are integral parts of facial feminization surgery for both cisgender and transgender women, though there are men who have the procedure done, too. As for scarring, the incisions are most often disguised in the hairline and are typically barely noticeable.

Why don't you like it? If the scar is minimal, they can wear makeup or wear bangs vs the alternative large forehead which makes you look much older.

With a fringe (provided one isn't bald), you don't even notice a big forehead...

Oh great, now another thing for teenagers and young adults to feel self-conscious about, and rush to the plastic surgeon's office. I hope this trend passes because a very small forehead can look disproportionate on the wrong candidate for the surgery.

Oh my....what's wrong with people just accepting and loving who they are rather than dissecting what 'they' perceive as flaws.
