How to Draw the Inverse Function Using the Graph of y = f(x) - What To Know - Worked Example

Показать описание
To draw the inverse function using the graph, or curve, y = f(x) we use two important rules:
- the curves of a function and its inverse function are mirror images, or reflections, of each other across the line y = x
- if the function's curve, y = f(x), passes through a point (a,b) then the inverse function passes through (b,a).
The second rule means that the curves' x and y intercepts are swapped.
The method is clearly explained with a worked example.
