Wow.. this blew up! Thanks for watching, had a lot of fun remaking this little scene and getting some animation practice in. A few weeks ago, I also spent some time building all the sets for the actual trailer to remake. So when I next get some more free time, I might revisit animating that in the SQM style!

Also yes, this looks similar to the Squared Media style as I was previously a director at Black Plasma Studios / Squared Media and I've been working towards rejoining the channel full time!

This is MINECRAFT. This is the essence of the game. No need to create "a different" movie just because it's never been done before...

I like the skin art used for Jack Black. It has some resemblance of Steve while also showing the individuality of the actor.

The director of the movie talked about about these kinds of animations and how they wanted to do something different, when they should just take pride in the fact that the community is so full of people that bring creativity and passion into videos like these and do a beautiful animated movie that could pay homage to these animations instead of the opposite. Oh well, maybe in another movie...
