This song is so funny. It reminds me of when I met my future wife Greta at a local beach in 1980. We were in the water talking and she gave me her number after I asked. So I got back on the beach and I had nothing to write it down with. So I had to write it onto the wet sand and asked some lady sitting nearby to make sure no one walked over it while I scrambled to get a pen and paper from the snack bar! Here we are now after 34 years of marriage all because of that moment! <3

This is definitely the original version. I wish crushed as a kid I won an autographed album on the radio and went to pick it up at the station and it was not there, had to settle for some t-shirts. I saw Tommy Tutone, Scandal with Patty Smyth, John Waite and The Romantics a couple of years ago they all still sounded amazing.
