IRS Free File Program 2025 Tax Season

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced the availability of its Free File Guided Tax Software, starting January 10th, 2025. This program, a public-private partnership, offers free online tax preparation to eligible taxpayers with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $84,000 or less. Eight providers offer this service in English, with one offering a Spanish language option.

Taxpayers exceeding the AGI limit can utilize Free File Fillable Forms. The IRS emphasizes that this is one of several free tax filing options available, encouraging use of the program to claim valuable tax credits.
