Unique oil filter wrench

This is a weird unique tool. I do not think its a necessity and its trying to reinvent the wheel when a normal 2 jaw plier will work just fine and easier imo

Doing a couple oil changes a day with unique type tools, but nothing ever beat the general 3 jaw, and regular wrench

If I get a stubborn oil filter I just grab it with channel locks and turn it. It isn’t like you’re using it again.

Nothing beats the classic screwdriver through the middle to make a turn handle. 😂

I used the web strapped filter wrench on heavy duty diesels. it allows me to use different length ratchets. Also, use the strap on my vehicle filters if they are tight. I am gifted enough after the first oil change on my vehicles. I can use just my hand.

Saw this at SEMA in 2021. The guy is super helpful if you have any problems. He makes them all in house. This video doesn't do this oil filter wrench justice. It's a pretty nice wrench and I own a lot of expensive fucking tools.

I've stopped with filter wrenches a long time ago. I do a lot of maintenance on heavy equipment and my large channel locks are all I need.

Whenever I had an oil filter that would not come off no matter what I did, I would take a screw driver, hammer it thru the filter, and unscrew it using the screwdriver to get a better grip and more leverage. I've never had that technique fail on me, it works every time. You just have to make sure that you hammer the screwdriver towards the bottom of the filter, so as to not accidentally damage the threads or anything else on the car.

A good set of pliers works just fine for me. A nd there's a range of applications for them. Less money spent on tools. Now if a was at a dealer, might try.

That’s a very good tool. If it works properly, it seems you can get into the tightest of spots.

This is nice. Also why I like fram... with a heavy sigh. Used to drive a screw driver through stubborn filters. Didn't want to spring for a tool.

This design is brand new to me, and I appreciate that. But like with every other unique solution to oil filters, I am baffled they exist when piercing the bottom to drain and then running the punch through as leverage to break it free proves to be a mess-free solution that works in nearly any space without hassle.

I’ve had the same $10 oil filter wrench since I started my job 7 years ago. Never needed anything else. The jaws are getting worn out and doesn’t grip quite as well anymore, but I’ll probably just go get another one 😂
