This story is a period piece that captures the everyday life in a hostel during the 1990’s. The song is entitled uBaba and the inspiration behind the concept is centred around a place that was predominately for man. Hostels are known to be places that are male dominated and best represents man ideologies. We choose to use this location to appreciate man spaces and we find them in different elements. During the apartheid regime, hostels were for men who were employed and hard working. Using the hostel for the music video is metaphor for the appreciation of man and speaks to the song title Ubaba.
