'Finding Freedom' author: We spoke to their 'close friends' - but not to Harry and Meghan

Journalist and author of 'Finding Freedom', a book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, tells Sky News the Royal couple felt frustrated with press intrusion into their lives around the time they relocated to the United States.

Omid Scobie says he has spoken to a number of 'close friends' and people and sources close to the couple and the Cambridge's, but admits he didn't actually speak to Harry or Meghan and that they are not supporting the publication of the book.

Omid wrote a book going into the most intimate details of their life, she peeing in Africa, the brands of all their accessories, private conversations, where and how the real jewels are kept, etc. But MM doesn't sue him and says she didn't cooperate with the book. Which of the two is lying?

The staff of the RF should sue Carolyn Durrand and Omid Scobie for defamation. Discretion is mandatory for RF employees. The authors have slandered the RF staff by insisting that the information for the book was provided by RF employees.

I'd prefer to have my privacy, without having folks writing books about my life. Just a money miner!

Does anyone actually believe that H&M's close friends would reveal such detailed info without their knowledge or consent? If they have, that's a serious breach of trust and they need to reevaluate how they choose their friends. I simply do not believe that a man who has been in the public eye since conception and a woman who worked as an actress on a moderately successful cable show, who claim to want nothing but privacy, would reveal such personal information to people unless they completely trusted that it wouldn't be publicly leaked by them. Is it possible that they just have terrible judgement and are really poor at choosing their confidantes? Yes. Is it probable? No. The probable answer is that they consented to their friends speaking to the authors. They can 'legalese' their way out of it all they want by saying "we never gave an interview". It doesn't matter. We aren't stupid.
