Test Situation - Video Info:
Both cameras were mounted without case.
Picture and sound were not edited.
No stabilization was used during shoot and postproduction.
The cameras were mounted as you see in the picture in the beginning of the video on the same base plate.

Was in the doubt between them. But I clearly saw that XIAOMI has a much more fluid stabilizer, the video runs smoother.

Nice video. I also read your review on your blog. Sharpness is pretty good on the Eken. Did you do any mods on your Yi? Distance seems out of focus. I have a Yi coming and I might get the Eken as well and do a comparison but not before I fix the Yi's lens and up the video bitrate.

Have you done any 720p, 120fps tests yet? I've only seen two on youtube and they seems kind of funny looking. Interested in the following: 1) is there sound at 720p, 120fps. 2) What does the video look like when slowed down to 1/4 speed and rendered at 720p, 30fps (should be nice smooth slow motion). I like the sharpness on the EKEN (reminds me of my sj4000), if it does well at 120fps then I think I need one :-)

The Xiaomi Yi has way more potential than shown in this video. Using a custom 35 mbit script will make the image quality so much better. Together with the better sensor it will blow the H9 away.

You need to make a better rendering in your program. Quality of both cameras are not what they are in raw footage....

Yi is not refocus yet. Because some yi's camera focus for selfie's shot. That is why other people refocus it.

The yi's footage usually looked a little better, but it's more expensive and doesn't come with the mounts.

i ve been comparing and image stabilization is the question. xiaomi is better at that. and since they are action cameras for me its crucial. the xiaomi battery is almost double better as well. Even though i admit the superior quality image base of the heken...

There is something wrong with your Xiaomi Yi. I have a number of them and they are all super sharp. I think yours is one of the ones that came from the factory out of focus. This is a common problem supposedly. You can refocus it manually and it will sharp.

Yi is out of focus. I had this same issue in another Yi camera. You must calibrate the lens.
