I just want to comment and say I was suicidal from dpdr about a year ago. It was hard to function and life felt like hell. It’s been a year and with cb therapy and medication, and I feel as normal as I did before. It occasionally comes up in moments of extreme stress, but never lasts more than 2 minutes. THERE IS HOPE! If you are struggling, don’t give up. Please! Your life is worth living and you will overcome this. I know it’s hard, but there is a way to stop feeling hopeless.

funny that recently I found a music/video that is EXACTLY about the 5 second rule - Free by Florence + The Machine. it's much more common than we think. Even Post Malone talked about having DP/DR after bad drug experiences in an interview. the thing is, YOU'RE NOT ALONE!

I've struggled with it twice and about 98% today in my recovery. it's almost impossible to think how I felt before my recovery journey.

The mind can only focus on ONE thing at a time. If you accept the feelings and allow them to be there, while resuming your daily activities (e.g. work, gym, spending time with family/friends, gaming, etc.), you eventually become so absorbed in your current activities that you'll forget about dp/dr and anxiety in general.

As a child, I had dpdr symptoms for years, but i didnt get help because i couldnt explain what I felt. After years of living normally, it just came back and I am teriffied it will stick with me forever. At least I have a name for it now.

I am recovered, 3 months without any symptom! I just want to ask something, sometimes I feel bad because I had dpdr for 6 months and I lost many important moments, I was obsessed over it and it made me feel very bad. But well… that’s life.

Stay good people and keep your mind occupied and don’t worry about dpdr

I just want to say that I recovered from DPDR and have been so for almost six months now. Shaun's book and advice helped a lot. The key for me was to stay disciplined and stick with healthy daily habits and to lose yourself in new and existing hobbies. I thought I had little hope to recover and struggled on a daily basis and found it unbearable to function. It does get better and you WILL feel better. You will come out of this a stronger person. A lot of people that have experienced and recovered from DPDR do just move on and stop spending time wondering or thinking about it (As hard as that sounds when experiencing symptoms). I have had to remind myself to come back to share my recovery with others to show there is hope and that IT WILL get better and you are never alone. Thank you Shaun.

Hi Shaun two months ago I got severe dpdr after taking antibiotics due to heightened anxiety like never before. While im still working on my mental symptoms of anxiety my DPDR disappeared after a month of religiously following your advice, it got me over an obstacle i thought i would never get over. Recovery is pushing through the uncomfortable feelings, detaching yourself from your thoughts and fears cause thats what anxiety uses to live and focusing on the stuff you love, even if its hard t enjoy it while having intense symptoms. It does get better guys even if it feels like its the end of the world its not. Thank you so much Shaun

Brilliant Shaun, a shining light in an otherwise cloudy world of knowledge on this matter. I recommend anyone to purchase Shaun’s manual and watch some video interviews. I am so grateful to Shaun for helping me so much during my recovery. I now feel better than I have ever felt before. Good luck everyone

I had DP for 6 years until I got into a situation where a teacher was defending me, amd I felt safe, and then I felt a rush, like being alive again, the walls were more realistic the street, the sky was real, my hands were real I finally felt that they belonged to me.
