Jewelry thieves targeting victims of Southeast Asian descent during Diwali, Frisco police warn

Police believe older Southeast Asians are being targeted this time of year because of Diwali, when people bring out their jewelry to celebrate the goddess of wealth.

In NYC all the lndian women in my apartment had their gold jewelry stolen at least once even in the 90s, we got adjusted to that environment and all the new were used to wearing jewelry and given as gifts by family commonly, but can see how elderly can become easy targets anywhere else.
