Tutorial How to Replace Repair Main Board Garmin Forerunner 235

Steps to fix your device.
1. Start by heating up the screen with a heatgun
2. Use a thin pry tool to pry off the screen
3. Unplug the screen
4. Pry up the heart rate sensor ribbon
5. Unscrew the mainboard screws (two of them)
6. Pry up the main board
7. Put the unit back together

Even though it can smell bad around here we love the fresh air and being near the post office and in a quiet sleepy mountain town certainly gives us much closer access to Team Turtle and Team Beaver (Watch our "Who, what, when and where is JoesGE?" video if you don't get the reference).
All this to basically say that we are all addicted to coffee and stay in the warehouse for ridiculously long hours in order to keep up with the demands of the youth for these two-sided head audio devices and speakers that float when you throw them in the ocean or in your bathtub to test if they actually float. On top of that, we do like it when less stuff ends up in landfills so we hoard everything on shelves with wheels so that we pollute less, it just sits in our warehouse losing molecules slowly over time degrading to become smaller and smaller.

If you are still reading at this point you deserve an award, or a high five, or something because you must either be the most patient person on the planet, or you read blogs frequently. And if the latter is the case, then this whole thing must seem pretty short so let's keep going.

Hi! My FR230 can't detect GPS but other functions are working. I already did the following: a) Sync with my phone b) Hard Reset c) Factory Reset. Does this mean that I need to replace the main board? or the antenna was not connenct on main board?

I will change my display on the 745 when the new display arrives. I suspect the steps are the same.
Does anyone know how water resistant the watch is after that?

Thanks for the good tutorial! I was wondering about GPS chip/antenna replacement. It seems that it is more or less as for the main board, as if I understand the antenna is the black stuff on top of the watch.
But the trouble is that I didn't manage to find a single internet website To buy it as a spare part.
Any tip?
