The Better Bakeneko | Maker Phantom Build & PE Foam Mod Showcase
Показать описание
How good is the Bakeneko60's big brother?
↓ Build Details & Links ↓
Buy links for PE foam:
Note: I want to clarify that the foam in the Amazon link isn't 100% confirmed to be non-conductive, but I have evidence of it being totally fine over multiple weeks of daily use so far. I suspect that most foam that has conductive properties will be marketed as anti-static/ESD/conductive, so I'm quite sure that the linked foam should be non-conductive (I'm likely going to be using it in future builds if I run out of foam from keeb packages). But, of course still try at your own risk!
Phantom R2
- Anodized aluminum case
- POM plate
- O-ring gasket mount (30A silicone)
Durock L7 (Pink)
- Stock 65g springs
- Gateron Black Ink v2 with 100g SPRiT Progressive spring on spacebar
- Krytox 205g0 (bottom rails, top all sides, stem all sides + legs)
- 0.3mm Deskeys gasket films
Stabilizers
- Durock screw-in V2
- Epsi mod w/ KBDfans stab pads
- Krytox 205g0 on sliders
- XHT-BDZ on wires
Keycaps
- HK Gaming Black on White (~1.5mm PBT)
Note: I bought these before I knew how scummy HK Gaming is as a company. If I were to buy BoW keycaps in the future, I would look to GeekArk or ePBT if possible. Although, until someone is able to beat out HK Gaming in terms of availability and price, I find it hard not to recommend them to those who need affordable and basic caps ASAP. If you do end up buying from them, at least try to avoid sets that contain special modifiers or novelties, as those are likely copied art (currently Milkshake and Dreamscape). I really hope designers follow in the footsteps of those like Biip and start making nice sets available in stock (Notion, Milkshake, etc.).
Additional Sound Mods
- Swagkeys 65% poron plate foam
- ~0.5mm PE foam between switches and PCB
- ~1.5mm adhesive neoprene foam applied to inside of spacebar
Recording Gear
- Canon EOS 200D camera and Google Pixel 5 camera
- Razer Seiren Mini microphone (~6" from the keyboard during sound tests)
- shock-mount
- desk-mounted boom arm
For sound tests, I boosted the volume by 6db and applied high-pass filter to eliminate any residual desk reverberations.
Song
Harris Heller - Red Green Blue (StreamBeats)
