A rising star in the Democratic party and proponent of the Green New Deal, Ocasio Cortez (aka AOC) called for defunding ICE and harshly attacked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for its anti-immigrant actions. New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also spoke directly about President Trump and his desire for a border wall and stronger border security. The White House has kept a hard line on immigration despite Trump saying in the SOTU that he's for legal immigration. But for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dancing around an issue is not something she does.
