Even though I live in Romania, on the outskirts of the Balkans, and am somehow familiar with this sound I had no idea what microtonal is until King Gizzard. Their last album is simply hypnotic. Amazing how information travels back and forth these days.

I just saw Sinan AyYildiz, and he totally shreds that Saz.
It would be great to see him tap jam with Sarah Longfield.
Her 8 string and his doubleneck Saz. It would be mind blowing.

Very cool, can't help but feel something about this sound is what's missing from American mainstream music today, the Beatles and The Doors among others explore some of these tones rarely, but with a fraction of the range and skill level. Really interesting sounding music. I always think about what the late Oliver Sacks wrote in his book about musicology, about how the tones we use in music sound good to us, in part because the tones reflect the tones we hear our daily lives and conversations. So globalization should give rise to some pretty cool new genres if that's the case, Not that this is new, just that many people (especially where I live I suspect) have never been seriously exposed to this kind of music and most might not even realize you weren't playing traditionally fretted guitar. Great music man, I love your videos!
