Rosa Ponselle, who heard Tetrazzini in her prime, said that her voice was a true dramatic coloratura, a very large voice capable of intricate runs and trills. During a four-day period in March 1911, she recorded this and fifteen more arias and songs at Victor’s Camden studios.
