I live on the west coast (blue state) so gas is sky high. Food is a lot more expensive too. I live on potatoes and beans. I pray the coming election goes “our way”.

One of the things that bothers me the most....if you watch anything on TV, the just keep repeating how great everything is. All these jobs, stock market just keeps going up, etc. It makes me think I'm the only one struggling so badly each and everyday just to survive.

I'm in my 50s as well, and you are correct. This is the worst economy I've ever seen. The people in power don't represent the people anymore.

Yeah, I watched this again, Kevin, on 7-4-2024. And, I so agree with you ... 4:00 ... We staying home on July 4th, because we just don't have the money. We didn't even cook any special food.

I was in Walmart today, I was looking at the postal envelopes the size that would hold a birthday card size, they were $8.00 a box. Ridicules. It seems like most small items are 8.00 and up . That why I like the dollar tree a seven they are. Struggling. I was also looking for storage boxes for photos I went to micheals asked the girl who worked there if they had them she said no, I looked around and found lots of them in two different locations of the store, she couldn’t be bothered to be helpful, again $8.99 a box. I”ll keep and reuse some old shoe boxes. Customer service sucks big time

Similar here in the UK. Same money got over double what you get now. Changed during the Covid lockdown phase. We were told not enough delivery drivers… but prices never came back down.

What you say is true. What i dont understand is the people that still will vote for Biden . It boggles my mind that they want 4 more years of this.

When young western women and single mothers learn to stay home, raise the kids, keep the house clean, and be thankful to have a man to help them, , , ,

THINGS WILL CHANGE!

By 2032 I predict owning a house will be a struggle and with the electric car mandate gasoline will double in price and become harder to find . In just a few short years it will be senseless to take out a car loan on a gas powered vehicle

Talking to the couple of neighbors I have out here in the country, they tell me its like losing more than one weeks paycheck a month. They have kids and you know kids they are always hungry. My next door neighbor who is a mechanic does side work at home on the weekends. Why? The little side jobs help pay for the food they need. Now what I'm going to say puzzles me. In my county and school district they are advertising for school bus drivers. They can't get enough to cover all the routes. Pay? They are paying $37.00 an hour.( Free medical too) Bonus? They are offering $5, 000 to sign up and drive! Obviously there are a portion of the working age people who would rather pass on offers like that and sit at home eating Hot Pockets and playing videogames on the couch.

I remember going to Kroger in 1992 and then it was considered a pricey grocery store. I grabbed a large cart and had food falling out of it because I had stuff piled so high. $120 at checkout for the entire cart of groceries.

79-early 80's may have been as bad orworse with groceries, maybe, but costs, have never been this bad, except for the Great Depression. Housing costs are prob. worse than the depression.

Same thing happening in Canada. It feels like they are trying to break and 'broke' us in all ways. We have to be really strong right now. Hang in there Kevin.

It does suck all over. I see it here on the East coast, especially in the inflated grocery prices. Insurance, utilities, gasoline, restaurants - everything is sky high.
