Toyota Service Advisor here, the supra is reliable, maintenance on it isn’t crazy aside from brakes which are around $1300 for a set of pads and rotors installed, but if you’re taller than 5’10” this is not te car for you. The doors open wide but they’re long so not fit for common parking lots/garages. The bubble roof while it looks good makes the roofline super low and the floor is still somewhat high, meaning the opening for you to get in is extremely narrow and uncomfortable. The GR86 is way easier to get in and out even though it is a smaller car. I love the Supra I really do, and I think it is a great car, but damn I’m almost 6’2” and that shit is a pain to get in and out, but very fun to rip.

As someone that bought his MKV a year and a half ago, i have no regrets or disappointments with this car. Even with the AT, its an overal great and fun car outta the box. Id definitely buy it again if i could.

So you like the shiny penny - as an owner of 24 Z Performance 6MT ...there is no contest. The latest Z is Japanese heritage, Japanese royalty - not created by an outside company - the Z looks better, handles awesomely as a daily driver and has much more visibility 360 than the dupedra - I could list numerous reasons why JDM fans would prefer the Z hands down over the dupedra.

Honestly the Supra nailed it in design. That Z already feels old and I’ve seen a few in person although I’ve seen dozens more of the Supra it still leaves my head on a swivel until it’s out of my site.

As much as I dislike the BMW engine on a Supra there is no comparison. The Supra is a far superior car in every aspect.

Multiple dyno runs have been recorded on stock Supras showing the claimed crank HP to the wheel. Looks are subjective, but performance isn't. The ZF8 and B58 are far superior than the VR30 and Merc-Benz 9G Auto. Been saving for a bit with the intention of picking one up early next year.

So many of you are crazy to think that because the Supra uses a BMW B58 engine, it automatically makes it not a Supra which is such a brain dead argument. You could say a Mclaren F1 is actually a BMW as well as it uses a naturally aspirated v12 from BMW. But its still a McLaren.

Also on a dyno the Supra makes over 400 while the Nissan makes 380 ironically

I prefer the aesthetics of the Supra over the Z. Although, I prefer a wide body Z over the Supra.

It's always funny how people bitch about it not being a BMW and not a Supra. Ironically the fact that it's a BMW makes so much better than any other japanese sports car

I would go for the supra since its on the newer platform. I drove the old 370z and it felt heavy and not very nimble.

Reason #1 BMW motor without the rest of the BMW.

Reason #2 the Supra is probably not collecting as much of your data as the 400.

Reason #3 production run is ending and it's a sick car.

Reason to buy a 400: you like the car more. 🤷‍♂️ its your money, get what speaks to you.
