Показать описание
Time for the start of a new project car series, this time covering a 1991 Pontiac Firebird Coupe with a 305 small block Chevy engine and a 700R4 transmission. My neighbor needed to get rid of it but didn't want to send it to the scrapyard, so he offered it to me for $100 and I gladly accepted. It has quite a few miles and has been sitting for a few years, so there is a lot of work to be done on this project!

Dates of filming: July 8th, 2018 (Buying)
July 12th-13th, 2018 (Oil Change, Washing, etc.)

Song List (Order of First Appearance):
0:01 Birds in Flight – Dan Lebowitz
1:51 Scapes – Silent Partner
6:40 Pluto – Topher Mohr and Alex Elena
9:13 Golden Days – Topher Mohr and Alex Elena
13:45 Pickup Truck – Silent Partner
16:00 Open Highway – Silent Partner
16:34 Awakening – Silent Partner
17:26 Days Are Long – Silent Partner

Imagine selling your crap car to your neighbor for 100 dollars then the next day you see him drive out of his garage with it looking brand new.

What a steal! A driveable 91 Firebird for $100 is like a dream come true... I'm insanely jealous but at the same time super happy it didn't get scrapped

This made me happy and sad. I met my future wife in 1987 when I was 18 years old. She had a new 1986 Trans_am burgundy color. I asked if I could drive it and 31 years passed with us. We also owned a beautiful arctic white 1985 Trans Am. I miss it. But my wife had a stroke this Dec and died Jan 3 2019. Id trade all in the world for her again. But I have memories. Trans Ams are part of it. She actually picked out the Mustang we own now and have had 8 years.. Or I guess I own alone now :( Ill never get rid of it.

The broomstick cost 50% of the total price of the car.

This video hit home with me .. the ending part of the video i really resonate with. My father bought an 83 Mustang GT back in the 90's. He loved that car with everything he had. He drove it everyday and would put it through its paces. Somewhere along the way he lost track of the car, he sold it to a friend when times were tough and never saw it again. I grew up around Mustang culture and the cars themselves. He would always talk about his Red and black 83 mustang and how he loved it. A couple of years ago with the VIN number in hand i set out to find it, and I succeeded. last year on January 7th i brought it home, the look on his face when he saw it is something ill never forget. He was shocked to see it after all these years, and happy that it had survived. He didn't want it though, and told me that he wanted me to have it and keep it alive. That's what i intend to do!

Keep making these videos man!

the 1990's were so weird. The era gave us some of the ugliest and also some of the most beautiful cars

You talk about the car so lovingly it's like you got a rescue dog from a shelter and gave it a new, loving home.

My dads last car was a 65 Pontiac Catalina, that he bought 2 years old from my brother, he loved that car and only lived 2 or 3 mos before passing away suddenly of a heart attack at 48 years old, I was 5 going on 6, but the memories of him and that car, I guess made me a lifelong Pontiac man, I'm 57 years old now, I have a son of my own who's going in 14, and we have a 73 Grand Prix, even though we always have a newbie in the garage, and my wife's car, there's basically always been a Pontiac in the other garage, since I'm 16, in honor of my dad

Me: "So what's wrong with the car?".

Owner: "Oh, well the head gasket blew, every rod knocks, suspension is shot, rockers are gone, frame has rotted away to nothing, paints bad, starters bad, timing belts broke, radiators broke, windows are stuck, AC dosen't work, driveline is broke, tires are bald and flat, and there is no interior."

Me: "Sounds great, I'll take it".

Owner: "Oh yeah, the T-top leaks".

Me: "Shit, nevermind".
