Dearest Annie, I prayed this with you from my other channel as I took care of my son's kitten while he recovered from surgery. I joined late, and am finishing late, partly because I had a lot to catch up on after returning the kitten to my son's new home with 3 other rescue cats belonging to his roommate. I don't expect you to remember that for 2 years, from 2018 to 2020, I prayed with your novenas while living with my son and his older rescue cat, a street feral who had been severely injured. His past influenced his behavior in ways that made it difficult for me to live with him, but we tried the best we both knew how. He couldn't help it, after all. One thing that soothed him was your voice. Maybe it was the prayer, but he liked your prayers best compared to others. You gave him comfort during his illness. "Just a cat, " but one of God's own creatures whom He gave to us to care for. It was hard for me to pray with your novenas after he died, because it was sorrowful to see him suffer, especially near the end of his life, and listening to your voice brought to mind how it was one of the few comforts he had. That would lead to thoughts of his suffering, distracting me from being able to pray. But I had faith that the Lord would sustain me through this mourning, even as I mourned the deaths of my Dad and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins during this time. These past 2 years, my prayer has largely been without words, but now I'm returning to my old habits, which I've missed. And now my son has bought a house and rescued a kitten who happens to look like the feral rescue. The kitten stayed with me as a foster, having been dumped off in a 9AM-9PM shopping district parking lot, and found by chance because my son's friend worked late and had to make a deposit at the ATM very late at night, on his way home. The kitten was afraid to fall asleep alone, needing to be held, and even then he cried. So I began to sing Brahms Lullaby out of old habit with my children and grandchildren. That soothed him so he could sleep peacefully. As he grew, he still needed me to sing the lullaby to him at least once a day, and he would boop my nose or mouth until I began to sing, like he was pressing a power button on a radio. When he was old enough, he went to live with my son permanently, having the company of the other cats to provide security. But he came to stay with me for a few days before Christmas and until Christmas Day, to recover from his neutering in a quiet place with less chance of injury. I thought he might have outgrown the need for me to sing the Lullaby, and maybe he did forget it at first, until I played the first prayer of this Novena. That's when he responded to the music and to your voice, asking me to pick him up and hold him. And when the prayer was over, he booped my nose. I'd forgotten the signal! So he did it again, and when I still didn't respond, he booped my mouth and nose one after the other. Then I remembered, and began to sing Lullaby. He immediately curled up in my arms and fell peacefully asleep. All because of your voice. Yes, he is "just a cat, " but he's one of God's own creatures whom He gave me to care for for a short time. Thank you for helping to soothe and comfort these rescued cats. May God bless you
