I got this trophy when I was a kid. It's actually not that hard because you can quick save anytime you want and just do each part, and load when you fail. Not to mention you can do it with all your weapons from the previous save

yesterday i finished the big boss extreme run and also got the big boss emblem, my advice is to examine some speedrunner and try to copy their playthrough

I think MGS2 is a lot more painful. With this you can just use some speedrunner footage to help yourself or possibly abuse the manual saves or copy the saves on a USB. But MGS2 on extreme is pain only cuz of one boss. But the hell is the VR missions.

Obtained this rank years ago, then did it a few more times. Certain areas you can shave off time like the stealth follow mission and many of the frog encounters

What's crazy is when the game 1st came out I beat it a couple of times, unlocked everything and beat its crazy times and objectives, then the trophies came out and I had to start from scratch again...

MGS4 big boss rank is definitely the most forgiving one, considering you can save as many times as you want. Big Boss Rank in MGS2, however, requires a perfect execution of strategy and knowledge of the game. For MGS2 BB rank, it requires tanker-plant chapters on either extreme or european extreme. 0 to 8 save limit. No alerts. No deaths. No kills. No health items. Up to 700 shots (this means you can only shoot non-lethal weapons up to 700 rounds). No radar (which means you will have to memorize enemy patrol patterns and locations), and all of this must be done within 3 hours.

I got the Big Boss rank as a kid. I didn't know about the solar gun thing back then, so I had to do the motorcycle chase scene with the tranq getting all headshots. Took weeks of practice lol.
