9/16/2015 -- Large M8.3 Earthquake Strikes Chile -- Tsunami warning issued -- Pacific Unrest Obvious

A large M8.3 earthquake has struck off the Coast of Chile , South of the Peru border near Valparaiso. A tsunami warning was issued for the Pacific ocean.

The Tsunami turned out to be 12 feet high *4 meters -- struck the coast of Chile.

I was expecting major activity to strike Chile this week (as I said in the forecast video).

The most recent global earthquake forecast was calling for a large volcanic eruption strike South Chile this week.. instead.. a large magnitude 8.3 earthquake has now struck South Chile.

I was expecting an eruption with a swarm of M5.0's.. instead a M8.3 struck..

Watch for eruption activity in the area just in case.

I'd also like to point out that Soloman sea was struck as expected with a M6.2, and Taiwan was struck by TWO mid M5.0 earthquakes.

Soloman Sea was forecast to see a mid-M6.0 and Taiwan was forecast for upper M5.0 to lower M6.0. Both hit dead on.

I'm not shocked to see an M8.3 on the East Pacific quite frankly.... since the other two M6.0 this morning in the Philippines + Soloman Sea , and the M4.5 near Los Angeles California were pointing to major unrest brewing on the Pacific plate.

50 miles from my house. Felt like the house was going to come down.. We have had several aftershocks so far..

I'm Chilean and I live 3 hours from the epicenter (a city called Illapel), and aside from the scared people on the streets (I was
downtown heading home from work) nothing else mayor happened, not even a power cut. We're so used to this here that the we have earthquakess resistant structures and the people know what to do, is in our culture now (we learned the hard way in 2010).

There's not going to be a Tsunami, just a lot of violent waves in the coast, but the evacuation is part of the normal procedure. The only mayor problems are happening in the epicenter, Illapel, there's one confirmed deceased person for now.

Large quake with many strong aftershocks in Illepal, Chile tonight. Tsunami warnings in place all up the west coast up to Alaska, Hawaii and even as far as New Zealand

Thank-you for the upload and update Dutch, Chile is continuing to get rocked with ( I hope ) aftershocks the Tsunami warning has been greatly extended. Hawaii, New Zealand, California all the way up to Alaska. At this time I have counted 14 Quakes including the 8.3. almost half were in the 6 + range with the rest all over the place in the 5 + Magnitude range.

Something is headed Southern California's way...these strange weather patterns of extreme heat combined with 70-90% humidity then these 1-2 hour flash rain showers that were nowhere in the weather forecast...I can feel it, California is going to get hit with a 6.+ earthquake very soon

Here in Santiago, Chile it made almost no damage, the movement was wide but slow, if you compare it to the 2010 earthquake, this one was nothing.

it seems that the pressure is usually released before cally is hit, or they are just worse faults or different idk
