Someone tried to do that to me when I worked Drive thru at McDonald's. Their order was like $8 and paid with a $100 bill. Because it was such a big amount I counted it 3x to make sure I was giving her the right amount back and I close the window and then 2 seconds later she taps on the window and says I was $20 short. And holds up the money and it was showing $20 less but I stood my ground and said I know I gave her the right amount and said I'd have to get the manger to pull the tape so I turned around for the manager and when I went back to the window she had driven off. People are pathetic to try and steal. And at McDonald's if your register is short you have to pay it

quick change artists is what we call them. worked at a grocery store for years and some people literally will try to make 10 bucks from moving money around while you give them change back.
