Takes me back to my Kiting Days in the 80s making kites from plastic trash bags, wood dowels, and bamboo sticks...what a soothing pastime where one can send one's worries up the kite line!!!

Wished kites were flown around here more often. The 80's were booming w/kites & vendors. Mostly box, stunt diamonds & spinners. I flew 6 5ft diamond stunts w/30ft tails. And it drew alot of attention. I wished I could finds these for sale again.

I’ve went to a kite festival yesterday and it was AWESOME! I saw the big giant octopus kites there and even a big fish swimming with the squid like a movie! All it needed was a shark to attack them for food 😂

I can't believe the prices of kites when up in 20 years. Back in Dominican republic we used to make then with wooden sticks and wrap it in plastic bags, depending on the size, materials where very easy to get. It been 20 years cense I make or fly a kite.
