I'm enjoying farmland saga but it was really satisfying to see that the old beast is still in there. His eyes and facials even changed. Askelad drilled that fear of death and will to survive deep into his bones

That resemblance he saw in snakes eyes brought season 1 thorfinn back for a split second, when his only purpose in life was to kill askalad. Honestly a nice touch because it was subconsciously imbedded in him to react that way which is proved by the fact that he was willing to let them kill him up until that point. It shows his feelings of a lack of purpose in life.
