"Yours Is No Disgrace" is a song by English progressive rock band Yes, which first appeared as the opening song of their 1971 album The Yes Album.

According to Edward Macan, "Yours Is No Disgrace" "is generally recognized as Yes' first antiwar song". Author Bill Martin describes "Yours Is No Disgrace" as "a remarkable and subtle song about the Vietnam War.

Such a great version. Raw. Jammin out. Threatening to fall off the rails in the middle but never did. Just a superior band and this was its greatest lineup for sure.

I missed that night - I was in Southampton at university but saw them at Southampton Guildhall on the 28th of the same month. I did see them earlier that year at the Pavilion on April 4th. Just shows how hard they were working - two gigs at the same venue in 7 months.


Another memory of the sadly long gone Pavilion - after Elton John's first visit to the states where the live album 17/11/70 was recorded he returned to the UK and his first date was the Pavilion - Hemel Hempstead. I was there for that one too and still have the tickets from both concerts. And the price printed on the front: 14/- and in brackets 70p

Blimey the pavilion in hemel hempstead was probably at this gig back then i used to drink far more than i could handle and end up walking home to kings Langley, but i still remembered to buy there albums

This is taken from a doc named Sounding Out, which contains clips from a handful of other performances from the same gig. The question is: Did they film the entire concert? And if so, where is the rest of it? Film footage of this line-up, which I personally believe was the best Yes (with both Bruford and Wakeman--the Fragile/Close to the Edge line-up) is rare and precious, indeed. Talk about a Holy Grail discovery if that footage exists and is released.

Amazing to see and hear a ES-175 played in this style. I have a 175 and this makes me feel better about it. I often see it as more of a soft jazz guitar but it evidently can really rip when you want it to. I just wonder how it would be for feedback. Didn't seem to cause Steve much problems really.
