I love the idea of The Acacia Strain and Volumes of tuning up the 8 string instead of downtuning the 7 string.

Went back and forth trying out 7 strings, baritone, even a 7 string baritone guitar and couldn't get into them. First time picking up an 8 string I did a double take and figured what the heck, try it out. Absolutely love it and bought it! So much fun! Sounds so freaking good with a Nobels ODR-1 in front before hitting the amp!
