neurochemically, the tiredness comes from the brain depleting glucose. glucose tablets will help stave off the tiredness.

I have profound hearing loss in one ear that’s only marginally improved by hearing aids. Mine is complicated by a very, very low word recognition score in that ear. I can attest to the tiredness at the end of the day. I should probably get a cochlear implant in that ear (I do medically qualify for it), but I’ve had three other surgeries (starting in 2004 and happening every six years, two abdominal and one to remove a small malignant kidney lesion), and I’m pretty tired (pun intended) of waking up in recovery rooms. Maybe 2023, since that would, at the very least, break the six year pattern.

Great way to explain listening fatigue, but speaking as an individual with a hearing loss, this is incorrect. Fatigue happens ALL the time, even with hearing aids. And it's filling in the wheel of fortune puzzle even with treated hearing loss and amplification. Hearing aids don't make this go away, they help but it's still a lot of work.

Make sense. Having a very old analog hearing aid is very tiring on a everyday basis. 😴
