This video demonstrates the high beam function of the popular Mini Morimoto D2S Bi-Xenon Projector outdoors.
A bi-xenon projector used the same HID bulb for both high and low beam operation. When the high beam is engaged in a bi-xenon projector, a solenoid drops the cutoff shield controlling the beam pattern. When the solenoid is released the cutoff shield springs back into low beam position.
Test Bulb: OEM Philips D2S 85122+ 4300k
Camera Distance: 25-30 feet away
Camera Position: 6 inches above the cutoff line (low beam position)
Projector Position: Fixed stationary
Projector Modifications: None
Note the color and intensity while in the low beam position.
