Ryan really has been at the top of the hill of content creation so I’d take his word for it on this topic

People just dont understand Toast's form of communication, like with the whole cancel stuff with him a few weeks ago. People need to understand Toast is very sarcastic, and blunt

Toast was saying that, If you wanna be a streamer then you are making your self a product for views, you need to show something for the people to buy you, for people to know who you are you need to be smart and think of a way to advertise what you're offering, either through game plays or, through good content personality wise and stage presence.

in short...it's not Toast's job to promote every small streamer LOL

I genuinely prefer streamers like Toast who are blunt about their thoughts/opinions on a topic or a person rather than streamers who sugarcoat everything and try to make it nicer cause honestly some people just need to be told the hard truth even if it hurts them. If some streamers get offended like honestly I think it's cause it hits close to home for them and that sucks yeah but sometimes you need a harsher opinion from someone to actually improve yourself, want to do better and overall it also helps you as a streamer to accept criticism and or negative feedbacks as your channel/community grows and instead of throwing hate at that streamer or getting offended by what they said, you should instead try to comprehend what they mean and find ways to improve your channel instead cause like small streamers who are hating on Toast rn gain absolutely nth from doing that, they're just wasting more time when they could have done smth to expand their community and channel which just genuinely proves Toast's point as to why they're still small streamers, it's cause they put in 0 effort to actually improve. They just think okay I have a camera, I play games and BAM I'm gonna be a good streamer who will get lots of views like streaming isn't all abt that.

I totally understand what Ryan and toast is saying, I’ve tried streaming and couldn’t pull in viewers. I just came to the understanding that I either don’t know how to advertise or am not entertaining enough to get new viewers. So I took that L and I went about my business. It is what it is. Definitely feel like people shouldn’t get butt hurt over these things, you either got it or you don’t.

The fact that some people felt the need to turn this into a huge drama just because their brain cell could not comprehend what Toast said, is just showing the thirst for attention of those people.
It is not my place to judge and comment but this is my opinion...

Toast is the type of person to handle fast food customers. He doesn’t need to call up the manager.

if the "small" streamers get butthurt over the truth imagine if they got haters on the level of big streamers like toast and friends

Point is he wouldnt help small streamers if their only quality is being small

Toast is correct in what his saying although you can make an argument that he could've phrased it better but it's just who he is as a person. IMO this is the dark side of twitch that no one wants to talk about meaning being a streamer on a platform that has the worst discoverability compared to other streaming platforms.

The clips channels also only used that one part where he said ‘small streamers are bad’ and left out a loooot of context. Like he said; he ain’t about to specify every single word that comes out of his mouth like we’re fucking two years olds trying to learn words, lmao, learn how to listen

ok why are the streamers who try to join a MC server not making their own server?, it doesn´t matter if you have 50 or 8k viewers. one streamer could look for other streamers and pitch in to pay for a server, i´m sure they can have their own adventure on their own rules.

Was this actually a drama? In his original clip he was already extremly reasonable. If all you got is that your a small streamer and therefore expects preferential treatment your in the wrong place. Its fine being small, toast and otv has brought up people who werent even streaming to being in the top two % of twitch. But thats because they bhad something unique to offer that retained viewers. And thats fine, I'm fairly certain that most would agree. You don't need to rephrase that.

When I watched Sykkuno's old lol vids and his old streams I was like damn, He's gonna pop off someday and get the recognition he deserves.
But really tho honestly his league commentary was entertaining and funny at the same time

Depends, if you're just dreaming for fun for like a few friends, I don't think it matters but if you tryin to make a career you gotta improve

They just don't understand Toast very well. People may view it as harsh or even cocky but if you are an avid watcher/supporter of Toast, you would know he really meant nothing but actually care of those people. It's like whenever he bullies Yvonne in League, he said that he does that because if he can't be harsh to her, she will never improve at on that thing. People just get offended by it because they can't handle reality. Let's be honest here, streaming is not for everyone and it may sound easy at it looks but not everyone gains success from such. If you are stuck at 10 viewers or less in around 6months that's clearly a sign of you're doing it wrong or maybe just try different thing. It won't be a shame if you try to focus on something you can be great rather than sticking to something you thought you would be great

Real friends come off as harsh, shallow friends care more about what you think about them than about actual being helpful to you.

Toast has literally helped so many streamers gain exposure, but it's because he saw potential in them and thought they deserved more than they were getting.
He isn't obligated to help every small streamer he comes across, idk why people don't understand that. I'm glad that Toast is honest and blunt about these things.

I agree that Toast does word things bluntly and it can easily be taken out of context and his sarcasm is definitely not always understood, but I don't necessarily agree that all small streamers are bad at what they do. There have been many content creators that did shit for years before they got recognized. NoPixel is a great example. They probably weren't small small, but when OTV and other big streamers came to NoPixel, suddenly all these NoPixel streamers got huge followings, because they're good at what they do. Popularity is also something to consider. What's popular at the time and if you enjoy that or not. Just because you don't follow popularity doesn't mean you're a bad streamer. So many people have so much talent that doesn't get recognized, and gets lost in the flow of recommendations.

It's a lot more complex than 'if you're not getting viewers you're bad at streaming'. That's where I don't particularly agree. But expecting and demanding things of people like what Toast later referenced, that's not okay. Small streamers who act like assholes or demand to join the Minecraft OTV server is wrong.
