On the contrary, the Bible do say how often. Corinthians states that "as often as you meet"

The Bible tells us to take on the first day of the week (Sunday) Acts 20: 7. Note the same wording is used for the weekly contribution 1 Cor. 16: 1-2

1 Corinthians 11:27-32...everyone forgets this part of the Bible.

Though I am a 71 year-old Catholic, I have been unsuccessful in trying to find a thorough history about communion. I prefer to read something that is not Catholic, but something that is scholarly and completely objective. IMO, the Catholic's Sunday worship has been taken over by the Eucharist (probably has been for over a thousand years). By that I mean that the Eucharist completely dominates Sunday's worship and the preaching. I wonder how it ever got to this point. Surely, when Christians gathered in the first couple of centuries, the focus of their gathering must have been teachings about who Jesus was and what he meant for us. I cannot believe that the gathering was mostly about receiving the bread and cup. Somewhere along the line the emphasis on the Gospel of Christ took a second seat to the reception of communion. I wish this had not happened, but it did IMO. Most of my childhood friends were Catholic (we all went to Catholic grade school and high school), but most of them have little to do with Catholicism or Christianity as they have grown older. IMO, the most logical reason is because we thoroughly learned about Catholic practices, but we learned very little about the essence of the Gospel. I suspect I will get push back from some Catholics, but I have been there and done that; and I am convinced that the Gospel/Scriptures are far more important in forming our faith in Christ than communion. Please do not tell me that the "Gospel" is read each Sunday. Listening to someone reading a few paragraphs from the Bible each Sunday is not sufficient.

Jesus Says That Eating and Drinking Are Spiritual Acts John 6:35

This is my body, and This is my blood, mean eat spiritually, that is, eat by faith. That is, feed your soul on all that I am for you. Nourish your heart on all the blessings that I bought for you with my body and blood 1 Corinthians 10:16 That is what faith is: faith is a being satisfied in all that God is for us in Christ. Christ has given us the Lord's Supper to feed us spiritually with himself.

I'm happy that we have hold fast to this teaching. We celebrate our Lord's death every Sunday.

POPE BENEDICT XVI: In sacramental communion I become one with the Lord, like all the other communicants. As Saint Paul says, “Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread” (1 Cor 10:17). Union with Christ is also union with all those to whom he gives himself. We become “one body”, completely joined in a single existence. Love of God and love of neighbor are now truly united: God incarnate draws us all to himself.

Some disciples walked away, though Jesus did repeat it and said it is eating, knawing at it . Eating !!! He did not say it was a symbol

some people believe its just a symbol and nothing special, which is offesive towards christs sacrifice.

Too often it is just another routine ritual.
I believe that it should be a "special" event.
I am uncomfortable with this constant reference to drinking blood and eating flesh.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, if He intended to establish this as a symbol, why did He let all the people who were shocked by his words "walk away and walk with him "no more, " and try to stop them by saying "I was just speaking symbolically: come back! You don''t understand" No, he let them walk, and "they walked with Him no more". They could not accept this like small children, that all things are possible through God. The dissenting disciples were the first protestants. Think about it honestly, take off your anti-Catholic defenses, and yes, pray on it.

Observe Passover, not Communion! Communion comes from Babylon, Passover is Biblical. Don’t be deceived!

Shame you did not answer the question. There is no biblical authority for communion, but there is for commemorating the the Lord's Last Supper following the directions Jesus gave i.e. washing of feet, eating the bread, and dringking the wine (not grape juice). It's an annual thing not a weekly or monthly thing.

The Body and Blood does not represent or symbolize in the Catholic church. It IS The Body and Blood of Christ
