10Hp Kohler Diesel Engine First Start Up (on Biodiesel)

This is my 1st time ever starting a Kohler Single Cylinder Small Diesel engine, I start the engine and film it in Slow motion which looked pretty darn cool!

I was very impressed with the fact that this engine started on the very first pull despite having a much higher compression than it's Gasoline counterpart.

This is a clip from behind the scenes of the first episode of the Warped Perception Diesel series.

I will have the full story in the first Diesel Episode but before this I never knew Kohler made Diesel Engines let alone anyone else that makes Diesel Engines, I will be exploring features and benefits of this small diesel engine in the full WP episode.

Its a Lombardino, often the pull cord will recoil and fly back in hurting the hand.

I'm a late Comer but what was the rated hp / KW/ hour on this engine ? And is Thai a KD 440 2A33EO ? I'M doing research on a piece of equipment that had this engine with those numbers for the model specific .

Kohler bought Lombardini. I bought a similar sized 168F Chinese. 189.99 plus tax. Also very well made. Avoid ether and high revs. You have to mount them on aluminum plates.

Sorry it too so long to get to ya video Matt. I’m curious how much compression is necessary to ignite diesel on that scale. Couple hundred psi maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️. I assume that engine would have a rotary style high pressure fuel injector or maybe it’s kinda like a powerstroke and utilizes HEUI system and generates its own power from a stator to fire the injector. My mind could be running on brother 🤣 or I’m just rambling on. Really love the small diesel, kicks my imagination and curiosity in gear and gets me thinking so what can I say 🤦🏻‍♂️ lol
