As I recall, Kratos only says 1 line to him the entire sequence.

The most meaningless kill was the guy that tried to escape the burning building, until an O appeared above his head.

“I would’ve felt bad for him, only if he wasn’t asking for it to happen”

*Hera enters the chat*

I figured the most meaningless god kill was Hera. She wasn’t in his way to Zeus nor was she trying to kill him; she was just stumbling about, pestering him

To say there is a meaningless death in the original games is an understatement. There are so many, and probably worse than Hermes. King Midas, that one girl at Poseidon's palace, getting the Bow of Apollo, the boat captain (even tho he was said to be an actual slaver), and especially Hera - and you know, the rest of Greece.

Kratos: "I ain't got beef with you. Step aside, and we're good"
Every single god and demi-god: "Fuck you"
Kratos: "Alright, bet"

Also the fact that Helios, god of oaths and the sun, immediately broke his oath to give Kratos information for sparing his life. He didn't have to die at all, not even fight just like Hermes, but his death was even stupider

When concerning meaningless deaths in GW3, the one that came to mind for me was the death of the Poseidon’s princess in his palace, in order to hold the door open for Kratos, like seriously there were no other ways to go about it Kratos?

That one soldier who just gets killed to stop a trap altough kratos could have trown the armour and shield: 🗿

I'd argue the opposite. Hermes was the most meaningful death because he needed to learn about the most important scale in existence. The more you fuck around the more you find out.

King midas-
was by far the most meaningless dude was just there for the soul purpose of platforming just insta-killed just to grab a chest across a lava waterfall then never brought up again

He noticed that Hermes' boots could be useful for his Journey. Simple as that.
