TEDxVienna - Josef Prusa - 3D-Printing

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxVienna, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxVienna event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Now, 7 years later, there are lots of 3-d printers, clones and knock-offs yet Jo Prusa's company and product are going strong. He stuck to his "open-source" philosophy and in doing so has allowed the technology to advance and to be affordable to many people. Even though 3-d printing is very common, in some ways, most people that I show my printer to are seeing this technology for the first time and are amazed by it. I'm waiting for delivery on the Original Prusa MK2 from Jo Prusa's company. I also own a Chinese clone of his i3 printer and it is a great machine too. I remain a huge fan of Jo Prusa. For me, he has hero/celebrity/genius status.

They should have got him a translator, Prusa is one of the leading minds in the community and it's a shame to see that genius restricted by the choice of language like this.

Im currently getting the parts for the Prusa Mendel and will build it soon and cant wait till I show my friends what I have done, its going to blow their minds! then I'll make them all one, a new world is on our door step, the world is about to change, Thank god this is all open source!.
