Congress faces Friday deadline to avoid government shutdown

Congress is in a familiar position as it looks to avoid a looming government shutdown. Lawmakers are pressing forward with negotiations in hopes of coming to a short-term spending deal. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane has more.

Maybe if they don't sign bills like the Inflation Reduction Act that has all it's revenue back loaded and not expected to be collected for years to come while all the spending is immediate we wouldn't have some of these problems.
