I agree based on your hypothesis. Great Job.

I remember a video you did some time ago Anton, where you put Jupiter in a TN orbit and it couldn’t clear the area and therefore it wouldn’t be a planet even though it’s tremendous size. Your my go to spot to learn something new every day!

The question on the preview looks like "But does it djent?", lol.

I just realized that they might not of meant those smaller rock objects as the ones it can’t clear out, but rather they might of been referring to another, much bigger one it has in its path...
Neptune

I actually do still care if Pluto is a planet or not, that's because if we can't get organized about what is and is not a planet (and if we cannot stop bringing politics or greedy ambition into real science) we will forever be hampered in our ability to progress through space. Brown's classification system is incredibly problematic, and needs to be completely revised. Another issue with his methodology is that from his vague descriptions Earth can be disqualified and demoted from planet status because of the Lagrangian points and the asteroids we share our own orbit with.
Brown is smart and has made many discoveries, but he really let his own personal ambition get the best of him on this issue. Demoting Pluto because there are objects far smaller than it that are also beyond Neptune is an absolutely ridiculous notion.

Thank you wonderfull Anton for this interesting video! :)

I don't think that Pluto lost its planetary status because of that rule. I think it's the other way around. That rule exists because of Pluto. The scientists that really wanted to demote Pluto invented that rule for the sole purpose of excluding it.

What about Mercury?. With this criteria I can assume that the Sun's massive gravitational field cleared Mercury's orbit.

If you kick earth out it's planetery status and put pluto back in the planetery status, you still have 8 planets.

If two Gas Giants orbit each other, one becomes a dwarf planet, the other one a moon

I mean I agree with Anton, in theory had something been near its orbit like Orcus or Ixion, that right there would prove its gravitational dominance, but the problem is Neptune influences Pluto's orbit more than Pluto affects the orbit of other objects because there are no other objects really near enough for it to affect them. But also by that definition Earth should also not be considered a planet. Double edged sword is what it is.

Plutoids or Plutinos? You said Plutinos a while ago! Thanks I love your videos!

In my opinion the definition ''planet or not'' should be defined only by CERTAIN
MASS AND DENSITY.

Maybe I'm wrong but wouldn't it be easier that way ??? 😅

I can be gravitationally dominant, as long as *your mom* doesn't get too close

if we make Pluto a planet again, we could make Charon a planet too, and we would have binary planets in our system, wouldn't that be awesome?
