Baltics VS Scandinavia

Показать описание
Europe has a lot of great regions to travel through! Two of which I visited very recently. The Baltic countries consisting of: Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. And Scandinavia with Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
Here how I think these regions compare to one another from a travelers perspective.
Cuisine - Baltics
Both cuisines are, in my opinion, not very good. However, I would still prefer Baltic cuisine because of its authenticity. For good food I think we can all agree that we need to be in southern Europe for that.
Culture - Baltics
I think the Baltics also take a point for culture. The culture can vary per country of course, but I prefer the Baltics because of the openness of the people. I think people from the Baltic countries are more likely to include you into their culture than Scandinavians.
Nature - Scandinavia
Easy point for Scandinavia. Don’t get me wrong, the Baltic countries have fantastic nature too. However, there’s no comparison here.
Hospitality - Baltics
As a traveler I have experienced better hospitality in the Baltic countries than in the Scandinavian countries. I would even go as far as saying people from Scandinavia are quite cold to outsiders.
Public transport - Scandinavia
The Scandinavian countries are some of the richest in the world, so again it’s no comparison. The public transport in these countries is excellent and perfect for beginner travelers!
Safety - Scandinavia
This was a really close one. Because both of these regions are ridiculously safe. I’d say that the big cities in the Baltics are even safer than the big cities in Scandinavia. But overall I would still give the point to Scandinavia.
Affordability - Baltics
This one wasn’t close. The Baltics, even though it has become more expensive of the last years, still beats Scandinavia for affordability. I once flew to Sweden from Latvia and my flight ticket was cheaper than the first beer I bought. 😂
Baltics win this round! Agree or disagree? And which region should face off against the Baltics now? 🤔
