SpaceX Starship Build Frenzy, Vulcan Centaur Test Success, Terran 1 Finally Flies and more!

This week so many intriguing changes around Starship development as we watch designs evolve. There is a SpaceX Starship Build Frenzy going on in the megabay, All while continuing on with the shielding upgrades prior to launch. Will SpaceX really fly 80% of all payload mass to orbit this year? That’s kind of crazy right!? But well on the way with Starlink. A massive win for Relativity space. The Terran 1 Finally Flies! But how did their first flight go overall? Huge excitement with the Vulcan Centaur Test Success, a new attempt for Rocket Lab recovery, and much more.

Love the little easter eggs in the back ground, the 2 turntables and the smoking starship

The methane from the Relativity launch was beautiful. And the max q, amazing. The 2nd stage chugged out, that’s an easy fix. Everything else that was achieved was a huge milestone. Really excited about Relativity now.

The 2 turntables edited in the background at 7:38 is such an amazing touch, mad props.

07:39 I love the added background touch! 😂

7:38 nice "two turntables" background :)

I'm afraid Terran 1 did not have the first launch attempt using liquid methane and oxygen. LandSpace, a Chinese company, beat it by a few months, but their second stage also failed to reach orbit. The record for the first methane rocket to reach orbit is still up for grabs.

Awsome video as always!! Just one thing, relativity did many firsts indeed, but the first metha-lox attempt was Zhuque-2 last year. Now, let's see who gets to orbit first. The race is ON

You won't find a better roundup of space information. . Excellent stuff. .
Thank you MH + Team for a great upload

Thanks for another great video, Marcus! I like the way you framed the Relativity Space launch. The conventional media are all talking about how it failed to reach orbit, but your focus is on how the 3D printed rocket survived the stresses of the launch, and that really is the most newsworthy aspect to the story. 3D printing of large metal objects will be a game changer some day soon, and this is a great way to prove the tech can work. The technical challenge of printing out an entire rocket stage without any flaws is really something to think about.

I'm very much looking forward to the first Starship launch, I would count it as a success if Superheavy can deliver Ship 24 through Max Q to staging. S-24 making it to orbit (sub-orbit?) would be a huge success as it would mean Starship would be able to deliver payloads to orbit using expendable ships.

To me, S-24 making a successful reentry and soft water landing on target ... absolutely incredible for a first flight, especially if B-7 can "stick" its own soft water landing.

In my mind's eye I can see my old shipmate "Murphy" (of "Murphy's Law fame) rubbing his hands together in glee at the thought of all the mischief he can do on this first flight. "Siddown Murphy, leave this one alone."

Congratulations to Relativity Space and it's Terran 1. Orbit would have been nice, but a huge achievement nonetheless!

Wow, nice Vulcan model!

BTW, there only a shortage of medium to heavy lift if you don't want to fly Spacex. Spacex gives paying customers priority over Starlink payloads.

Awesome show and congratulations to Relativity Space. By the way, John Kraus is the most amazing space photographer. Every photo is a work of art and his picture of Relativity's launch is no exception.

Re: why a tunnel instead of a bridge across a "seemingly-quiet street": I used to work for a Very Large Internet Company which had two datacenters, also directly across from each other and separated by a seemingly-quiet street! Mgmt actually asked for permission to build a pedestrian bridge between the two sites, bearing the full cost for all engineering and construction. But it turned out that two-lane road happened to also be part of the right-of-way for a state highway, and so permission was required from not just the city, but also the county and state DOT. The real nail in the coffin though was that since it crossed a state hwy, it could not be treated as a privately owned structure for regulatory purposes -- it had to meet all the same engineering, construction, maintenance, and (eventually) decommissioning requirements as any other bridge.

Please note that I do not think that this is a story about how regulations are bad and companies shouldn't be "held back" by laws. It's a story about how the world is a complex place and those complexities are not always immediately obvious. Would I have liked to scooter between two datacenters on a a bridge? Of course. Do I actually think that anyone should be allowed to build bridges across public roads just because they can afford it? No, I don't.

I've been waiting for a starship flight for so long, and I'm hoping we'll finally see one in the coming weeks (months?)!

Nice little touch at 7:38. Two turntables. 😂 I love it.

I love how Relativity Space named its mission "Good luck have fun" a.k.a "gl hf", said at the beginning of matches in many games (Starcraft 2 included). So fitting for the first launch!

Another outstanding week in Space ship launches, still the wait for Starship is driving me crazy! Can’t wait for the first flight hopefully in a few weeks.

Just noticed. As Spacex increases the 'reinforcing stringers' the outside of the rocket seems to look more and more like the Apollo rocket boosters.
