I have driven Scania for over 22 years now, and still my favourite. The driver support featured in this video is no doubt an invaluable asset to what is already an extremely advanced marque, well done Scania!

I like this, It teaches you how to be an economical driver.

It is an efficient gearbox brake, It makes it so your Wheel brakes stay cool. The retarder also keeps down costs relating to brakes, possibly tyres too. Kind of like an engine brake with out the loud noise.

to slow down when you are going down hill for an example if you set your cruising speed to 90km/h you can set the doen hill speed to 80 or 75 km/h for more control downhill. So a retarde is kind of a engine break wich slows down the rpm's

I agree, but the argument I always get is that North American trucks last longer... But I'd want a truck which is more comfortable and quieter for long journeys :P
