Agreed! My hometown is not the same now that all of the elders have passed away! There is nobody to go there and see. The energy is just different! I made my own hometown in my new town and it's amazing building new memories here!

❤ There is no need to compete. I don't associate with anyone from my hometown. I prefer it this way!!! Its bothersome that others PARTICIPATE in wickedness. They are NOT MY FOCUS. I'm tired of climbing up the ladder and being pulled down!

5:13 when you said that two person starting off at the same place in society, now one is better, the other remained the same. It's quite amazing how the other person who stayed the same show nothing short of envy instead of using it as a sort of motivation to become better for theirselves. There are certain type of people a person should be nothing short of content they've left behind; these type of people can't be help. There's no doubt personal mentality is a huge role in individual success. People who have made it simply act differently, and see the word differently from one stuck in the same loop of misery.

I just discovered your channel today (1/7/2023) and I resonated with the video before I even watched it! I already left New York City and have no plans to move back. I outgrew New York years ago, but only 2 months ago I was able to move out for good. New Jersey is my new hometown now, and even though I will always love Brooklyn, NY...it is no longer the hometown I once loved. I only go to NYC for BUSINESS ONLY & then when business is done I immediately leave. No hanging out, no chillin', I am outta there as soon as my work is done. I don't even announce when I'm in NYC no more, I go, do my business and I'm out. I also cut off family too, because they can never go with me to the heights I am rising to. They are jealous that I made it out a place that they're still stuck in. I love them all from a very safe distance..like nearly 100 miles away safe distance.

Ah you are US Navy also. I served in the US Navy from 1990 to 1995 as an Engineman. I was stationed at Navsta Roosevelt Roads and onboard the USS Nicholson DD 982 (The Nasty Nick). Some of the best years in my life.

My hometown is different. It is literally a resort and retirement town. Not exactly the hood. It is a great place to live filled with down home country people.

This is such a sad reality, but it is a reality and such it, must be faced. The success you've earned and lucked into (yes, there will always be an element of luck) is not going too be viewed the same by those who knew you before it. Those who are not enjoying the same level of growth and development tend to look upon you with envy. Many seek to bring you to their level instead of ascending to your's, because it's easier that way.

You can't really go back. You can visit, you can support, you can even invite people into your new reality from time to time (using caution). Ultimately though, when you've changed, and your circumstances have as well; its time to make a new home.

Not a fan of the music or the individual particularly but the rapper Boosie had a great interview on Vlad tv about this. Those who watxhed you rise will sometimes wish to see you fall and are "hypnotized by hatred".

You aint a sellout. Its just being smart. Visit, but make a new home. A new home in a new location where the people around only know the new you

I have a very special situation. Hope someone has an answer. I live in the city I grew up in kcmo and it's nit a small town. However I feel like I have to go as I do not have any friends here and I've always struggled with the scenery. I feel like I was drug here as a child and it never was my element
