This is why Steve's channel by far is one of the best, if not thee best out here on pools tips, tricks,nd great guide lines in how to be a pool owner.
can't say much more than the master has already said. " Its better to be pro-active, than re-active."
Once again thanks you so much for all your positive intuitive information.

Hi Steve, Just purchased a home with a pool here in Denver, CO. The snow finally melted off the cover so we can see the pool for the first time. Is there anything I can be doing to clean the pool while the system is still winterized? Do people put in any chemicals during this period with equipment off? I see a little algae on the bottom and some leaves - not terrible, but we'll get warm weeks then freeze, so I'm thinking I could do some brushing and skimming at the least. Thx for your channel.

Nobody needs to check their pool chemistry EVERY DAY. Nobody needs to brush their pool EVERY DAY. And nobody needs to empty their skimmer basket EVERY DAY. Do each of those tasks 1-2 times a week and enjoy your life

Steve, hopefully you saw my comment where it should have been on the first place. I deleted the first comment where you replied to. Thank you for all you do!

I don't know, changing the water out like once every 2 years is nasty to me. I may never go swimming again.
