A similar procedure was done to my father to save his life from stomach cancer, but it was too late (because the cancer metastasized to his liver). It was in 1999 but I still miss my father. Best regards

Had my gastric sleeve 1 week and 1 day ago. It is amazing how they do the procedure. I have lost 5 pounds and my swelling has not yet gone down yet. I am sure it will take time. I wish everyone good luck with their weight loss journey.

I had my sleeve done 8/28/2023. For encouragement, I weighed over 400 lbs before my decision to do the surgery. I lost 53 lbs during the evaluation process leading up to the surgery. I had other complications that went with obesity that was affecting my health. I felt like I needed to do this for the long haul. This surgery is not a "get fix" quick scheme. You have to put in the work to keep the weight off. Since my surgery weeks ago, I have lost 25lbs by following Dr's orders. It was tough after the first week mentally reintroducing your mind that you can't have (that) anymore, but it gets much better as the days to come. I suggest investing in popsicles, fudgepops, and protein shakes. I also made cream soups and blended chicken noodle soups. These types of foods you can have since they're all liquid form. Eat slow, and it should take a 30-minute meal for each meal. You gonna feel full after a few bites once you do start eating food again, I was nervous about this at first, but even this is getting better. You also must walk, walk, and walk to keep you active and that you dont collect bloodclots. I feel great, I feel a big difference already, and I haven't even reached my goal weight yet. This was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. My kids were first😊. Good luck, everyone!

A friend of my mom got that surgery some time ago, apparently something went wrong and they had to literally REMOVE her stomach. Still freaked out about it.

I had it almost 10 years ago. No side effects and I've kept the weight off. I can't eat a whole meal like I once did. But I think I've had my fair share.
