Lights Up is a living history project that aims to shine a light on inspirational women who have led the way in the theatre industry in the East Midlands and inspire the next generation of young women growing up in the region.
In this episode, playwright Amanda Whittington, is interviewed by Anisa Archer, on 20th February 2020 here at Derby Theatre. Amanda has written over 30 plays for theatre and radio and is one of the most widely-produced playwrights in the UK. Her plays Be My Baby and The Thrill of Love are studied for GCSE & A level and Fifth Word produced her play Amateur Girl in 2014. Her audio dramas include seven series of the award-winning D for Dexteron BBC Radio 4.
Lights Up is a project conceived and delivered by Fifth Word in partnership with Derby Libraries, in association with Derby Theatre and supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
