Metallica - Orion - Bass Cover

Been learning this for a little while now. At first I thought I'd bitten off more than I could chew -- but I decided to press on and make a recording :-)

This is one of my personal favourite Metallica tracks. A soaring instrumental that, more than any other, really shows Cliff Burton's melodic approach to bass playing. And his arrangement skills in general.

RIP Cliff.

There are so many brilliant parts in this piece, but for me the highlights are the classical interlude at 3:35 and Cliffs final, face-melting solo at 6:10.

It was a bit of a slog, won't lie, and it's not entirely perfect. I hope you enjoy listening regardless. :-)
